My sister’s big day is coming up rapidly!  I can’t believe that my little sis will be getting married THIS SATURDAY!!

So, I’m wrapping things up at the office and then heading on out of here.  Half day for me since there’s so much that still needs to be done before this weekend.

Hi My Sweets!

Wow, it’s been a while since my last post.  Life has been CRAZY!  At first it was one thing after another at work.  There was a last minute decision to move people around the office.  Of course, myself and my boss were included in that move.  Everything had to be done immediately, for some odd reason, so real work was put to a hault and a move commenced.

The one nice thing about moving, whether it’s at your office or your home, is that it allows you to clean things out and have a fresh start.  That’s what I always used to love about a brand new school year.  New supplies, fall clothes and a clean desk.  Fresh Start!

I’m finally situated in my new cubicle and I’m loving how quiet it is.  I’m now located right outside my boss’ office and we’ve started coming up with hand signals for each other.  It’s actually kind of funny and I’m thinking about creating signs or flags that we can use to make our day a little more enjoyable.  😉

In the mix of things, my sister’s bachelorette was thrown in for good measure.

We had a great time at Fire Island at The Palms!

Bachelorette Bandwagon!

My sisters and I decided that we will most definitely be back and make it a family affair.  I had never beent to Fire Island before and I truly enjoyed the experience.

Sisters Forever

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, at some point.  We returned home and faced the news that our grandmother had passed away. 😦

It was as if she held on and allowed my sister to have her special weekend.  Then, she let go.  I know she’s in a much better place, but my heart aches with the loss.

I know you’ll understand if I’m unable to post over the next few days.  I’ll try, because writing might be good for me.  If not, know that I’ll be back ASAP.

Hi Friends,

How is it already Monday????  This weekend was a blur, especially Saturday.  Up until about an hour after my sister walked through the gate and we yelled “Surprise! my body was shaking.  I was nervous that something would go wrong, but everything went very smoothly.  The weather was perfect, she was completely surprised and we had a great group of family and friends showering her with love.  🙂

Dana & The Bride-To-Be

I’ll do a complete write-up in the near future.  Currently, I’m rushing between a few projects here and wouldn’t be able to devote the time I’d really like into a proper post for my sister’s special day.  Plenty of pictures were taken to be shared with you. Don’t you worry! 😉

Just as I stated in my Friday Fitness post, I didn’t put any restrictions on myself for the party.  I also didn’t go hot wild.  I ate a nice balance of the food and even enjoyed a cupcake.

The Spread

It was just right!

My planned Hitch Fit workout ensued on Sunday.  It felt great to get a good sweat on and work my muscles.

My poor body (and mind) were exhausted last night.  I couldn’t even keep my eyes open to watch True Blood.  Rob sent me off to bed ahead of him.  I just didn’t have it in me. 😦   It was a good kind of tired to be though…happily exhausted.

This morning I still felt extremely tired, but got my booty out of bed to prep my meals for the day.  Today is Day #1 of my nutrition program and I wasn’t going to let anything get in my way.

So far, breakfast has been consumed.  I had a delish bowl of protein oats, a Venti Awake Tea, Water & Vitamins.

My protein oats bowl consisted of: 2 Egg Whites, ½ Scoop Protein Powder, 1/3 Cup Oat Bran (measured dry), Berries & Flaxseed Oil

YUM!!

Snack #1 soon followed….

A Chocolate Protein Shake

Rice Cakes Smeared w/ Peanut Butter

So Good!

Now that my belly is happily full I best be getting to the stack of work that has been waiting for me since Friday. 😦  It’s a rainy day here, so at least I don’t feel like I’m missing anything outside….maybe just snuggles under the comforter watching a good movie. 😉

 Have a great day!

Hi Guys!

When this post is finally published something very important and exciting will be taking place.

This post is devoted to my sister, Jess, who will be getting married two short months from now.

Over the past few days I’ve mentioned an “event” that we would be attending today.  While it most certainly is an event, and one that I hope she holds dear to her heart for a lifetime, it isn’t the event that she thought she would be attending.

Remember last Saturday when I mentioned a Super Secret Visit?

Here’s what you didn’t get to see…

You see, my sister is a lil too smart for her own good.  I needed to trick her in order to surprise her for her bridal shower.  She figured out that my family came to visit last weekend, but I don’t think she figured that her bridal shower would be today!

While she was sleeping last night, some busy little elves were doing magical work to make today a special one.

Jess thinks that she’s going to a work function in Eately  with me.  I promised her good food, free drinks and lots of fun.  All True!  Considering that I work for a wine & spirits company, that wouldn’t be far off base.

She thinks she’s going to meet some Food Network Stars…

In reality, she’ll be amongst loving family & friends.  I hope she isn’t disappointed.  We’re just as good as celebrities, right? 😉

Jess was very sneaky, following me on twitter and reading my blog.  There were so many things I wanted to say, but I had to keep my mouth shut!  I think I tricked her though.  I really hope so!

Jess’ journey to the altar has been a bit difficult at times and I know that Jess feels like she just wants to make it to the finish line.  I hope she’s able to slow down a bit and enjoy all of the things that truly matter.  I hope she’s able to take in and fully enjoy this day, while we shower her with love.  She deserved something special and I hope that we were able to make it that way for her.

I can’t wait for her to see her surprise! 🙂

Now, I really need to get some shut eye.  It’s 2:52 am as I’m finishing this post up, but won’t publish it until the event party has started.

Rob knew it was time for bed hours ago.

My sisters and mom followed suit.

As excited as I am, I have to make myself fall asleep.  It’s going to be a busy day!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Morning, My Sweets!

My alarm sounded at 6:30 am, this morning.  After hitting snooze a million times for half an hour, I hopped out of bed to get started with my day.  I wanted to make it to the gym before classes started.  By 8 am the gym is usually packed and that’s when this sweetheart starts getting annoyed.

I can be be on the shy/timid side, so as much as the gym feels like home to me I still won’t push my way to get what I want.  Usually, I’ll look around and feel an overwhelming sense of wanting to get out of there when it is overcrowded or I work a body part that I wasn’t intending to, because the area for those weights/machines is less packed.

I wasn’t going to allow that to happen today!

Some things might be out of our control, but there are often solutions to many more problems than not.  You just have to think things through and figure out what the best option for YOU is.  Today, that was me waking up early in order to get to the gym before the crowd.

It worked!

I started with 30 minutes of intervals on the treadmill.

My knees felt fine with two minutes of walking at a fast pace and then two minutes of running.  I haven’t been consistent with my workouts lately (you know, with the whole gym annoying me thing) and I could definitely feel that my conditioning isn’t what it once was. I’ll get it back!  Persistence & Consistency!

I kicked that treadmills booty & it kicked mine right back!

Look at those shoulders though.  🙂

After hitting up some back and abs, I headed out to find it’s a glorious day.

I wish Rob was home so that we could go out and enjoy the beautiful weather on a bike ride or maybe even out on the boat!

I do have some Super Secret Visitors coming over today. The big reveal will have to be at a later date.  Sorry to be so secretive, but it’s with good reason.  You’ll understand when I let the cat out of the bag.  🙂

I promise to take pictures to share with you later.  Unlike the bad blogger that I was last night, when I met Toni for the first time.  We had so much fun that time flew and the only picture I took was an afterthought.

Do you believe it?!?!

Now, this chick had better get movin’, because my visitors are on their way and driving WAY faster than anticipated.  I need to shower and get ready before they ring the doorbell.

First, some post workout fuel must be consumed.

This was my second attempt at making a shake this morning.  I tried to make a green smoothie, but it turned out NASTY!  I went back to the drawing board and this deliciously-thick, strawberry shake was born.

My shake consisted of: 1 scoop Strawberry Protein Powder, 1/2 cup Frozen Strawberries, 1/2 tsp Xantham Gum, 1/2 tsp Guar Gum (both to make it thicker), 1/2 cup Unsweetened Coconut Milk, Ice Cubes & a Splash of Water

So thick it barely moved when turned sideways…

YUM!!

Ok, I really must get going before my guests find me in my sweaty state.

Make this Saturday a Super one!

-Kim
